About Us

Cassini Maps was founded in 2005 and is now the leading supplier of historical UK and Irish mapping to both consumers and businesses. Our products have been principally developed to help discover the hidden history of the British and Irish landscapes.

Cassini has set the standard for the provision of historical mapping and is committed to continuing to provide a wide range of products in an equally wide range of formats. We will continue to create innovative products in the years to come.

Our digital mapping and digital map products can be searched via place-name or postcode through Cassini's award winning systems.

Cassini has a range of printed products and titles available through bookshops, other retailers and Cassini’s websites at www.cassinimaps.com and www.ancestry-maps.com

Cassini's maps are also available through reader offers and promotions and we are pleased to be working with the Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph, Daily Mirror, Saga Magazine, The AA, The National Archives, The RGS, Ancestry.co.uk and Johnson Press on promotional initiatives.

Cassini welcomes all forms of collaboration, from sales of our existing products through conventional wholesale or retail distribution channels to the creation of new products through joint-ventures, partnerships or licensing arrangements.

Mapping

Cassini has created one of the largest digital collections of historical Ordnance Survey mapping of the British Isles. Our maps have all been geo-rectified and exist as seamless layers within our own GIS systems.

Cassini has created new IP in 12 series of OS mapping spanning over 200 years of British and Irish history. Our maps vary in scale from the very detailed 1:1000 scale mapping to road atlas scale of 1:250,000.

All Cassini’s mapping is available for use under license and has been designed for standard GIS integration.

Accuracy is vital particularly with large-scale maps – and that’s built in to our system. Every point on the landscape can be searched by using a present-day postcode.

Of course, the site has to be easy to use – and our search-and-display facility has won awards and received many commendations in the family-history and national press.
